Something that always sticks out to me when reading Psalms, is how much thankfulness Kind David had even going through many of his trials in life. Now he wasn’t always thankful to the Lord in those trials, and some of those trials were due to his sin, but he was much more thankful than I would me.
O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. — Psalms 107:1
In the United States we have a holiday dedicated to thankfulness, also known as Thanksgiving. It’s a holiday that is set at the end of the harvest season, where we give thanks for the food we have. Unfortunately, it know has become a day that is over-shadowed by what deals you can get a stores the next day to start the Christmas season. Due to the commercialization, we have lost the meaning of the day, and completely forget how thankful we should be for what we have.
We should always have a sense of thankfulness at all times. We should always be thankful what God has provided us, even in our storms in life. We have a God that cares about us. Due to our sin, we don’t deserve to have any relationship with him. Yet he shows us mercy everyday. He sent His son to die on the cross for us that we may go to Heaven if we except him.
